What is Brow Lamination: What to Expect, Aftercare & Busting the Myths
Let’s talk about one of our most buzzed-about brow services: brow lamination. If you've been seeing the slick, lifted brow look all over your feed and wondering if it's right for you - this guide is for you. We're diving into what brow lamination really is, what you can expect before and after your appointment, how to care for your brows, and the truth behind some common myths.
So… What Is Brow Lamination?
Think of brow lamination as a gentle, nourishing treatment for your brows that reshapes and reconditions your natural hair. It’s kind of like a blowout-but for your brows!
Here’s what it actually does:
Softens and realigns unruly or coarse brow hairs
Helps your brows lay flatter and follow a more uniform direction
Makes your natural shape easier to style and manage daily
Enhances the way brow gels, pencils, or pomades hold
In short, it gives you a fluffier, fuller look - without any needles, pigment, or long-term commitment.
✨ Bonus tip from the Skin Bliss team: If you want bolder, more defined brows, we recommend pairing your lamination with a brow tint. Lamination can slightly lighten the natural brow color, so tinting adds depth and contrast for that polished finish.
What to Expect After Your Brow Lamination
We always want you to walk out of Skin Bliss Med Spa loving your results-and understanding exactly what to expect.
After your lamination, your brow hairs will be:
✔ More flexible
✔ Easier to shape and style
✔ Less likely to fight you in the mirror each morning
But here’s the real talk:
❌ They won’t stay frozen or stuck upright all day on their own.
Lamination doesn’t “glue” your brows into place forever. You’ll still need a touch of styling—think a quick swipe of brow gel-to maintain that feathered, brushed-up look throughout the day.
We recently had a first-time client who thought her brows would stay “stuck up” even after she washed her face—totally understandable! But that’s not how lamination works, and that’s okay. We’re here to walk you through it, every step of the way
Brow Lamination Aftercare: Keep Those Brows Happy
Your new brows are freshly conditioned and reshaped-let’s keep them looking their best! Here’s what we recommend:
First 24-48 Hours:
🚫 Avoid getting them wet (no sweating, swimming, or steamy showers)
🚫 Don’t apply brow products or makeup directly on the area
🚫 Stay away from saunas or hot yoga
After 48 Hours:
💧 You can gently cleanse your face as usual
🧴 Use nourishing brow or hair serums to keep hairs soft and healthy
🖌 Style with a clear or tinted brow gel if you like a more lifted look
Just like a blowout doesn’t last forever, lamination will gradually soften over a few weeks. Most results last around 4–6 weeks, depending on your hair texture and skincare routine.
Brow Lamination Myth vs. Truth: Let’s Clear This Up
Myth: Brow lamination makes your brows “stick up” permanently.
Truth: Lamination does not freeze your brows in place. It simply makes them more manageable and easier to style. You’ll still need to brush and set them-just like styled hair.
Myth: Brow lamination damages your brows.
Truth: When done professionally (like here at Skin Bliss), lamination is safe and includes nourishing ingredients that actually condition your brow hairs.
Myth: It’s only for people with thick brows.
Truth: Not at all! Brow lamination can help fill in gaps, enhance shape, and create symmetry—even for those with finer brows.
